Gina-Rae Horvath

Gina-Rae Horvath is a Canadian artist, represented in Toronto by Vertigo as a photographer and by Spark’s Productions as a director. In a career spanning twenty years, the bulk of her work was in advertising with a wide range of clients including American Express, Molson, Bombardier, Holt Renfrew, Labatt’s, Toronto Dominion Bank to name a few. Gina-Rae’s work has graced the covers of many national magazines including Flare, Chatelaine, Canadian Living and Vogue Bambini. Articles on Gina-Rae’s work have been published in Applied Arts magazine, Photo-Life, Today’s Bride and President’s Choice. Notable awards include the Gold award for Canadian Editorial photography and the Applied Arts award for self promotion. She has archival collections that reside permanently at the National Archives of Ottawa and the Library of Congress in Washington, DC.

Throughout her commercial career Gina-Rae Horvath continued to exhibit her Fine Art photography: examples…“ Food For Angels” at 80 Spadina Gallery, Toronto; “Nemesis” at Fleur De Mal Gallery, Toronto; “Canada in Winter” at Dominion Gallery, Milan, Italy; and more recently at HIAC Gallery, Hornby Island, BC with “ Fairy Tales That Fell in the River” and “Some Hornby Girls I Know”.

Currently Gina-Rae Horvath is in the beginning stages of facilitating and curating an installation of photographic tableau “I Hear You” based on audio taped stories of elders as recounted by the youth who hear them.

Gina-Rae lives on Hornby Island with her husband and daughter.
