Welcome to Bridget Catchpole Studio, where discarded materials are transformed into meaningful works of art. My practice explores value—what we cherish, what we overlook, and how transformation reveals beauty in the unexpected. Jewellery-making taught me to respect fine craft and precious materials, but what about objects deemed worthless? Driftwood, buoys, and plastic pollution—each carries a history, waiting to be reimagined. Since 2019, my work had expanded beyond adornment into sculptural forms that inhabit space rather than just the body. My latest series, Strange Evolution, features illuminated sculptures made from single-use plastics, empty beauty product packaging, and marine debris. Though composed of post-consumer castoffs, these works evoke glowing, imaginary ecosystems—otherworldly landscapes shaped by shadow and light. By transforming waste into something luminous and alive, I challenge perceptions of value and invite deeper reflection on our relationship with nature and the materials we consume or discard.

Bridget is available for studio visits by appointment only.
