Bridget Catchpole uses waste materials to speak about the layers of trauma that embody the human condition and point to the survival of diversity on earth. Her work implicitly relates personal and cultural biases to a material of no value and the disastrous impacts this neglect has created. Catchpole shows how her hands have shaped a worthless object into a gesture of hope and recovery — an invitation to look at the mundane with new eyes and in an inclusive direction.
