Hornby Arts Official Grand Opening of the Coop Community Spaces and CVCF Trails Project

Co-op Community Spaces & CVCF Trails Project Launch & Celebration

Many of you have already enjoyed the new trails linking the Arts Centre with the Community Hall and ballpark, connecting these vital community hubs. This project was generously supported by Federated Co-op and the Comox Valley Community Foundation and guided by Elder Barb of the K’ómoks First Nation, who has long partnered with Hornby Island groups and institutions.

The trails project fruition will highlight Indigenous plant knowledge and foster deeper understanding of Hornby’s Indigenous heritage. Its launch will also mark the new arts centre’s first step into Indigenous programming, with an exhibition sharing some of the island’s history and context, with programming to support reflection on our the many paths that have brought us all to Hornby Island.
