Celebration of Summer

July 27, 2025 @ 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Celebrate Summer in Style with Us!

Hornby Island’s most anticipated summer soirée is here! Join us for an unforgettable evening of delicious dining, live entertainment, and a spectacular silent auction — all in support of the Hornby Island Community Fund.

A Gourmet Evening of Food, Fun & Fundraising
July 27, 2025 – Historic Cardboard House Orchard

Dinner will be provided by A Taste of the Westcoast, led by Jaimie McVittie. Expect a locally sourced and inspired, gourmet al fresco meal. Musician Ted Tanner returns to the stage for an evening of heart, harmony, and toe-tapping good times.

The silent auction is brimming with treasures: getaways to Middle Beach Lodge (Tofino), Old House Suites (Courtenay), Sea Breeze Lodge (Hornby), and a week for six in a deluxe villa in the South of France.

Experience adventures like a Sun Corona musical cruise with Angel Forrest, La Fille “Hornby Waters” sightseeing tours, and a wind-in-the hair Hornby Island Sailing charter. Or “go to the mountain” with Mt. Washington ski passes and scenic lift rides.

Bid on original artwork by Robert Bateman and Ted Goodden. For the home, enjoy high-speed internet credits from City West, Green Thumb Nursery gift cards, a fossil from the Natural History Centre, Noritake dinnerware, H.I. Coop gift certificates, and land-clearing time by Neil Takefman. Office and business items include ad insert credits from Greydawn Printing.

Travel perks include BC Ferries travel passes (courtesy of HICEEC), Gulf Island Seaplanes discounts, $250 service vouchers from Courtenay Toyota, and more.

Foodies can bid on private chef dinners (including Ben Peterson), a pizza party from H.I. Bakery & Pizzeria, a Hornby Organics gift basket, and Glen Hadden’s “Land of Plenty” basket.

Dining gift cards are available for Cuckoo Trattoria (Coombs), Black Fin Pub (Comox), and Longwood Brew Pub (Nanaimo).

Local treasures include an ancient baculite fossil and a variety of goods and services from Hornby businesses. More donations are coming in—thank you for your support!
