Sara Vipond is a Canadian artist and educator whose current practice focuses on ceramics and flatworks. Rooted in material inquiry, her work explores the relationship between handmade objects, ritual, landscape, and everyday experience. Drawing on a background that spans ceramics, drawing, printmaking, video, and sound, she creates thoughtful works that invite quiet reflection through form, surface, and process.
Sara holds a Master of Fine Arts from York University, an Honours BA Specialist in Art & Art History with a Minor in Gender Studies from the University of Toronto, a Studio Diploma from Sheridan College, and a Ceramics Certificate from the Kootenay School of Art. She has taught studio and art history courses at York University, Emily Carr University of Art + Design, and North Island College.
Sara lives and works on Hornby Island, British Columbia, where she maintains her studio practice. Her new Hornby Island studio and gallery will open to visitors in Spring 2027.
