Deb Selkirk is a Hornby Island jeweller and the maker behind Bones & Stones Jewellery. Working in silver, copper and other metals, she creates an eclectic range of handcrafted jewellery that incorporates beach glass, pebbles, stones and other materials chosen for their colour, texture and individual character.

Deb’s work ranges from delicate wire-wrapped earrings and bracelets to bold pebble rings, textured silver pieces and substantial copper cuffs. Rather than imposing uniformity on her materials, she often works with their irregular shapes and natural imperfections, combining them with hammered, formed and textured metal. The result is jewellery that feels organic, individual and distinctly handmade.

A familiar presence at the Hornby Farmers Market, Deb has been making and selling her jewellery on the island for many years. Her Bones & Stones collection reflects both a fascination with materials and a willingness to experiment — from simple beach finds transformed into wearable pieces to more complex metalwork.
