When I proposed to my wife Rachel 36 years ago, I joked that our future wouldn’t be all boats and fish—but I was kidding. Designing and building refined 16-20’ saltwater fly fishing skiffs has been a lifelong passion, shaped by years sailing and living on the sea. My first word was “fish,” and they’ve never been far from my thoughts. Today, I carve sea life from found wood, painting their identities as I see them. I’m Chris Morejohn—boat designer, artist, writer, and fish lover living on Hornby Island.
