Angel Forrest

Angel Forrest is an internationally acclaimed blues singer, songwriter and performer whose powerhouse voice and magnetic stage presence have earned her a place among Canada’s most celebrated blues artists.

Performing professionally since 1988, Angel first came to wide attention with her electrifying tribute to Janis Joplin. Her first album of original songs, Here For You, sold more than 30,000 copies, beginning a prolific recording and touring career spanning blues, rock and roots music. She is a JUNO Award nominee and multiple Maple Blues Award winner, including seven-time Female Vocalist of the Year, as well as honours for songwriting and producing.

For more than 20 years, Angel has shared both her life and the stage with musician, songwriter and producer Denis Coulombe. Their creative partnership has produced award-winning music and continues to take them on tour and onto stages across Canada and beyond.

Today, Angel and Denis call Hornby Island home, returning between tours and performances to a life where music and the sea come together. Denis is captain and Angel first mate aboard their classic wooden charter boat, the Sun Corona, where they also share their talents through intimate musical cruises on the Salish Sea — a uniquely Hornby extension of their life as working musicians.
