Welcome to Serendipity

House Description: This 700 sq ft cabin has been in the owner’s family for a long time. A cool, shady forested lot with a basic, but comfortable, cabin situated toward the back of the property. There is a composting toilet in a separate room and a bathroom with tub and handheld shower and a sink.  There is also an outside shower. From the moment you step onto the property you will feel relaxed and comfortable. Set far back from the road, this modified A frame has everything a family will need.

Water: The water is supplied by a well. The water is good for cooking, washing dishes, bathing etc. For drinking you will be supplied with five gallons of water. The water container can be refilled from the Co-op Gas Bar or Ford’s Cove dispenser (for a small charge). The water can have an odor of sulfur when the Hornby Island water table is low.

Linens: In line with the water conservation efforts on the island, the guests are required to bring their own sheets, pillowcases, towels, and dishcloths. Comforters and pillows are provided.

Garbage and Recycling: As part of the Hornby Island experience you will be required to visit the Hornby Island Recycling Centre and dispose of your own garbage and recycling before the end of your stay.  Refundable bottles and cans can be donated to the Hornby Island Preschool which uses the funds to support their programs.

Things To Note:

  • No smoking anywhere on the property
  • No tenting/RV/trailers
  • There is no access to a washer and dryer
  • There is a TV (no cablevision)
  • Maximum parking for two vehicles permitted
  • Woodstove cannot be used

Internet: This home has Wi-Fi.

Pets: A pet is permitted with prior approval by Wind and Waves. A $125 pet fee per week is required.

Occupancy: Maximum 6 guests including children.

Turnover Day and Length of Stay: In summer season, this home is a Saturday turnover and books for a minimum of 7 days. In shoulder season turnover days are flexible and the minimum length of stay is 3 days.

Bed Configuration: On the main floor, this home has one bedroom with a queen bed and an additional separate area with another queen bed. Upstairs in the loft there is a set of single bunk beds and another single bed.

Location: Located in the desirable area of Anderson Drive, the property is a short drive to Tribune Bay and Whaling Station Bay and is located right across the road from the ocean.  There is beach access a short walk away.

2026 PRICING: 

High Season: $1900 per week plus taxes. 

Shoulder Season runs from May 1st to last week of June and from last week of August to end of September. The rate is 25% off the summer rate, which is prorated for the length of stay (minimum 3 days) plus taxes.  A cleaning fee of $165 will also be added for any rental which is less than seven days.

PAYMENT TERMS

50% payment is due at the time of booking.

Remaining balance due 60 days before arrival.

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • 100% of paid prepayments are refundable when canceled 60 days before arrival or earlier.
  • 50% of paid prepayments are refundable when canceled 30 days before arrival or earlier.
  • 0% refundable if cancelled after.
