A relaxing beachside retreat overlooking the rocky shores of Sandpiper Beach with further views of the southern Salish Sea, the Coastal Range and Vancouver Island’s snow capped peaks.  This one acre property provides an idyllic home base to commune with the many natural wonders of Hornby Island.

This quaint home is full of cottage charm.  A spacious cedar-clad great room is surrounded by large panoramic windows offering lots of natural light and expansive ocean views.   An open kitchen keeps you close to those enjoying the dining and living rooms.  Three cozy bedrooms each provide queen sized beds; one bedroom has views of the shoreline and two others are made for those who believe sleeping-in is required of any vacation.  A freshly renovated bathroom offers updated comfort.

Just above the rocky shoreline is a large level lawn, the perfect place for games of badminton and croquet or to simply spread out a blanket and wile away the hours reading, daydreaming and stargazing.  A large, handmade cedar picnic table anchors the yard and offers al fresco dining complete with ocean views.  And the back deck is a quiet spot for watching the sun or moon rise over the water or for taking the afternoon sun.

A beachcombers playground lies just below on Sandpiper Beach, a wild moonscape of sandstone sculpture giving warm waters for both day and nighttime swims as well as fascinating tidal pools when the tide is out.  A bird lover’s paradise complete with heron, eagles, sandpipers, loons and wild geese, perhaps the best part of Seascape Cottage is the opportunity it provides to remember your place in the nature of things.
