Welcome to Beautiful Whaling Station Bay
Sandy Beachfront Haven is a 3-bedroom cedar panabode (log cabin) built in 1974. Inside there’s a light, natural aroma of red cedar while several skylights brighten the living room and kitchen areas. The panabode is located on the gorgeous waterfront of Whaling Station Bay, with its lovely sandy beach, warm swimming waters and stunning sandstone walks. The tidal pools teem with anemones and other sea creatures. The incomparable Helliwell Park is just a short walk up the road. The beach side of the property is wild: filled with salal and conifers. The side where you enter the property has a lovely garden designed over 30 years by the host’s mother, with hydrangeas, roses and other perennials.
Two bedrooms have queen beds, and the third bedroom has bunkbeds suitable for children or for 1 adult on the lower bunk. The kitchen is equipped with microwave, fridge, stove, coffeemaker, kettle, blender, all utensils and much more. The spacious living room now has two luxurious couches, books for reading and a huge burl coffee table, while the front room with dining table overlooks the bay. Heating is electric.
The porch has a BBQ, outdoor tables and chairs available for al fresco meals.
Sheets, pillows, pillowcases, fluffy duvets, blankets, hand towels and tea towels are provided. Please bring your own bath and beach towels.

2026 Weekly Rates: $2,800-$4,200
Weekly rentals*, typically Friday to Friday, with some flexibility.
May 1st – June 18th: $2,800/week
June 19th to September 7th : $4,200/week
September 8th to September 24th : $2,800/week
*If visitors wish to stay less than one week (3-night minimum), pro-rated pricing may be available although a cleaning fee may apply for stays under a week. Given our family use with essential garden maintenance in between rentals, we do not offer full 2-week high season stays.
Additional Charges and Fee Schedule:
8% PST and 3% MRDT tax applicable to rental fees.
$0 cleaning fee on weekly rentals.
$600 damage deposit
Reservation deposit: 50% of your total rental base rate amount.
Balance of fees: due May 1 of the rental year. Payments via e-transfer.
Arrival and Departure timing:
Guests arrive after 3:00 P.M. and depart by noon.
Cancellation Policy and Fees:
Cancellation fee up to May 1 of rental year: $150.
Cancellation fee after May 1 of the rental year and more than 30 days from arrival date: 75% refund if we are able to book another party for all nights.
There is no refund for cancellation within 30 days of your rental period arrival date.
