Welcome to Beautiful Whaling Station Bay
Sandy Beachfront Haven is a three‑bedroom cedar panabode (log cabin) built in 1974. Inside there’s a light, natural aroma of red cedar while several skylights brighten the living room and kitchen areas. The panabode is located on the gorgeous waterfront of Whaling Station Bay, with its lovely sandy beach, warm swimming waters and stunning sandstone walks. Tidal pools teem with anemones and other sea creatures, and the incomparable Helliwell Park is just a short walk up the road.
The beach side of the property is wild and natural, filled with salal and conifers. The entry side features a small garden lovingly designed over 30 years by the host’s mother, with hydrangeas, roses, and other perennials.
Our indoor running water is potable—safe for drinking, cooking, and washing. Heating is electric. Wi‑Fi is available.
Two bedrooms have queen beds, and the third has bunkbeds suitable for children or for one adult on the lower bunk. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, fridge, stove, coffeemaker, kettle, blender, all utensils, and many extras. The spacious living room includes two luxurious couches, books for reading, and a large burl coffee table. The front room, with its dining table, overlooks the bay.
The porch has a BBQ along with outdoor tables and chairs for al fresco meals.
Sheets, pillows, pillowcases, fluffy duvets, blankets, hand towels, and tea towels are provided. Please bring your own bath and beach towels.

2027 Weekly Rates: $3,500-$4,200
Weekly rentals are typically Friday to Friday.
NEW: Due to guest requests, we now offer 2 week stays for those willing to keep the garden lightly watered.
Shorter Stays: While rentals are typically one week or longer, shorter stays may be available (3‑night minimum) at pro‑rated pricing. A cleaning fee of $250 applies to all stays shorter than one week.
High Season Rates
- June 11 – September 6: $4,200/week
Shoulder Season Rates
- May 1 – June 10: $3,500/week
- September 7 – September 30: $3,500/week
Additional Charges & Fee Schedule
- Taxes: 8% PST + 3% MRDT are applicable to rental base amount
- Damage Deposit: $600
- Reservation Deposit: 50% of the rental base amount
- Balance of Fees: Due May 1 of the rental year (e‑transfer)
Arrival and Departure timing:
Guests arrive after 3:00 P.M. and depart by noon.
Cancellation Policy
- Up to May 1, 2027: $150 cancellation fee
- After May 1 and more than 30 days before arrival: 75% refund if we are able to rebook all nights
- There is no refund for cancellation within 30 days of your rental period arrival date.
Pets
- Pets are accepted only for long‑time returning families (“grandfathered” guests). Additional fee and deposit apply.
- We are not accepting new guests with pets.
