This extensive private property includes a one-level 2200 sq ft home situated above the unique sandstone shoreline of Whaling Station Bay. The home is perched on the waterfront with stunning views of the bay and beyond including Texada Island, Georgia Strait and the Coastal mountains. Enjoy the sunrise from the “bay bench”, the roomy deck, or from most of the rooms within the home. Walk out front of the house to explore sandstone tide pools below, watch the abundant wildlife/nature, or jump right into the ocean. Walk a short distance along “toadstool” sandstone to the white sand beach for swimming, skimming and sunbathing. Helliwell Park is only a five minute walk away.
There are four bedrooms; The master bedroom is expansive with a vaulted ceiling, queen size bed, sitting areas, a deck overlooking the ocean and a natural wood fireplace. It has an en-suite bathroom with tub and shower. The second bedroom is at the other end of the house, also with a deck, ocean view and queen size bed. The third bedroom has bunks with double bed below and single bed above and is situated off the living room. There is a separate bathroom with shower that is available for this side of the house. The fourth bedroom has a set of single bed bunks and is located off the sunny hallway between the two wings of the home.
House will sleep a maximum of 8. Please bring your own bed linen, bath towels and beach towels. Light quilts, pillows and kitchen towels and cloths are provided.
The kitchen/living area is open and airy with an ocean view and hardwood floors throughout, and a gas fireplace to take the chill off on cooler days. A large bay window overlooks the ocean and a large wrap around kitchen island separates the kitchen from the living room providing a great ambience for entertaining, cooking and visiting. The dining room table opens up to seat 8 and there is additional seating at the island. There are two patio doors that take you out to a deck extending the full length of the front of the house.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the amenities for cooking and baking. This includes toaster, microwave, coffee grinder, coffee maker, waffle iron, electric kettle, pots, pans and dishes, cutlery and cooking utensils. Spices and certain condiments will also be made available.
Drinking water is provided through our community well. Wash water is piped in from a cistern that collects rain water over the course of the year. We ask that you use it sparingly. (There are notices of water saving measures posted throughout the house).
Full laundry facilities, including a second refrigerator are included in the spacious laundry room. On the deck is a wooden dining table and assorted chairs. A propane barbecue is located in the back patio area.
Ample paved parking is available. Property includes a large grassy backyard suitable for badminton, volleyball, soccer and entertaining.
