Clonnelty Cottage has 2 bedrooms plus an open sleeping loft and is located on a half acre near the beautiful Galleon Beach and Grassy Point. This area is known for the most stunning sunsets on the island. It is within a 5 minute walk to Hidden Beach and approximately a 15 minute walk to the Hornby outdoor market, the community hall and the school playground.  There are numerous bike paths, and beautiful areas to walk which can take you to Tribune Beach and the Ringside Market.

Clonnelty Cottage was originally built in the 1970’s by the owner’s parents.  It is a beautiful rustic log-framed cottage built with the logs off the property.  In 2019, Clonnelty underwent a major renovation.  Some of the renovations included a new master bedroom, a dormer added upstairs in the loft, a new front and back deck with an adjoining covered walkway to a new bathroom.   The cozy kitchen was revitalized with some new appliances. The family wanted to retain the original charm of the family cottage while updating the cabin to make it more comfortable and environmentally friendly.

The home is on rainwater collection/cistern and the bathroom has a modern non-flushing composting toilet.

Clonnelty Cottage is the perfect place to stay on Hornby Island.

This wonderful cottage comes with:

  • 1/2 acre lot, semi private
  • Front and back decks to enjoy the sun all day long
  • Master bedroom has queen bed, smart TV, and private access to the back deck and bathroom
  • Second bedroom is on the main floor and has a single sized bunk bed (top bunk is best for a child, young adult or light weight adult)
  • Loft bedroom has a double bed
  • Mattress and pillow protectors are on all the beds
  • Internet Wifi with assist cellular is possible pending phone provider permission

Please note:

  • The loft is accessed by a ladder. The loft is not suitable for young children who are not accompanied by their parents, or people with mobility issues.
  • There is a safety gate at the top of the ladder.
  • In keeping with Hornby Island water conservation there are no linens provided. Please bring your own sheets, pillowcases, towels and dishcloths.
  • This home has Internet/Wifi.
  • No tents, campers, trailers etc. anywhere on the property.
  • There is no smoking inside or outside on the property.

Pricing

PRICING:  

During the summer season, this is a weekly rental only with the check in and check out date on a Sunday.

High Season:   $2200 per week.

Shoulder Season: $236 per night (minimum 3 night booking).

In the shoulder season shorter rentals (minimum 3 days stay) are considered. The shoulder season runs from May 1 to mid-June and after the September long weekend to the end of September. A cleaning fee of $150 will be added to any rental less than one week.

  • This home permits one pet with approval by Wind and Waves for an additional fee of $100 per week.

TAXES

Applicable taxes are not included in the price and will be added at the time of booking.

PAYMENT TERMS

50% payment is due at the time of booking.

Remaining balance due 60 days before arrival.

CANCELLATION POLICY

100% of paid prepayments refundable when canceled 60 days before arrival or earlier.

50% of paid prepayments are refundable when canceled 30 days before arrival or earlier.

0% refundable if cancelled after.
