Welcome to A Cabin By The Sea
House Description: Bring the whole family to this great place with lots of room for fun. A cozy but spacious cabin perfect for a summer family getaway. Can also suit 2 families. 8 people fit nicely. A heat pump has been installed. (air conditioning and heat) and there is large outdoor yard, chairs, & BBQ.
A compact but fully loaded kitchen and large open living area that connects to the large deck. Full bathroom and an extra outdoor shower.
There are no dangerous animals on Hornby. Seeing mosquitoes on the property is rare. This location usually receives a constant ocean breeze. The front lawn always has a shady spot. Sunrises at Clam Shell Beach Park can be spectacular.
Two resident Ravens (he & she) watch over and protect this property.
Water: The water comes from a well and is tested monthly by Vancouver Island Health Authority. The water is potable. Extreme water conservation is necessary as the well can go dry if it is not given time to recover after use.
Linens: In line with the water conservation efforts on the island, the guests are required to bring their own sheets, pillowcases, towels, and dishcloths. Comforters and pillows are provided.
Garbage and Recycling: As part of the Hornby Island experience you will be required to visit the Hornby Island Recycling Centre and dispose of your own garbage and recycling before the end of your stay. Refundable bottles and cans can be donated to the Hornby Island Preschool which uses the funds to support their programs.
Internet: This home has Wi-Fi.
Pets: A pet is permitted with prior approval by Wind and Waves. A $125 pet fee per week will be required.
Occupancy: Maximum 8 guests including children.
Turnover Day and Length of Stay: In summer season, this home is a Friday turnover and books for a minimum of 7 days. In shoulder season turnover days are flexible and the minimum length of stay is 3 days.
Bed Configuration: Enjoy a main floor master bedroom with a king-size bed, two additional bedrooms upstairs, both with double beds. and an eagle’s nest landing loft overlooking the living room with two single beds – perfect for kids!
Location: Cabin by the Sea is located steps from Clamshell Beach Park on Anderson Drive, near hiking and bicycle trails. A short drive to the spectacular Whaling Station and Tribune Bay beaches.
Things To Note:
- No smoking anywhere on the property
- No tenting/RV/trailers
- There is no access to a washer and dryer.
- There is a TV with Ruko (no cablevision)
- Maximum parking for three vehicles permitted

2026 PRICING:
Summer Season $3500 per week plus taxes
Shoulder Season runs from May 1st to last week of June and from last week of August to end of September. The rate is 25% off the summer rate, which is prorated for the length of stay (minimum 3 days) plus taxes. A cleaning fee of $250 will also be added for any rental which is less than seven days.

- 50% payment is due at the time of booking.
- Remaining balance due 60 days before arrival.
CANCELLATION POLICY
- 100% of paid prepayments are refundable when canceled 60 days before arrival or earlier.
- 50% of paid prepayments are refundable when canceled 30 days before arrival or earlier.
- 0% refundable if cancelled after.
