Whether a novice or a seasoned sailor, Hornby Island Sailing provides you with the means to fulfill your sailing passion. Alan Keil has decades of experience teaching and sailing along the BC coast and can tailor your sailing adventure to meet your specific sailing needs. Should you want to just relax and enjoy a Discover Sailing cruise or learn to helm, sail trim, and acquire recognized sailing credentials to eventually captain your own vessel one day, this is your go-to place on Hornby.

SAILING INSTRUCTION AND ACCREDITATION

The picturesque coastline and the beautiful blue waters of the Salish Sea provide a stunning training ground for sailors. Hornby Island Sailing is a recognized Canadian Recreational Boating School and in collaboration with the Canadian Recreational Yachting Association (CRYA) can provide further training and award credentials in the safe operation of sailing vessels.

Advanced courses include Introduction to Sail Cruising (1 day), Competent Crew (3 days on water and land), and Day Skipper (an additional 5 days). All safety gear, log books, and instructional manuals are provided.

  The activity level for this excursion is light. No prior sailing experience is required. The starting and ending point for this adventure is Ford’s Cove Marina.
