Welcome to Hobbit Hideaway near Whaling Station Bay

Accommodation for Two

Hobbit Hideaway, our fairy-tale suite is conveniently located within minutes between Tribune Bay Beach and Whaling Station Bay. From here, in fifteen minutes, you can walk along the magical sandstone shoreline to Whaling Station Beach or to the stunning bluffs of Helliwell Park. Other Hornby amenities such as the Co-op, Ring-side Market, Community Hall, Farmer’s Market, Sea Breeze Lodge, and other fabulous beaches are quickly reached by vehicle in under ten minutes, or are an easy cycle away along the user friendly roadside trails.

Our suite is very comfortable for two people, built from wood milled on our property, and logs pulled off the beach, creating a warm and natural space. You will have your own private entrance, off road parking and, if needed, secure storage area for your bikes or sporting equipment. There are two queen sized beds – one on the main floor of the suite and the other in a spacious but cozy loft. Your bathroom has a large and bright tile surround shower. The kitchen area has a small fridge with freezer, a microwave, two burner stove, outdoor propane BBQ. It is fully equipped for your own meal preparation convenience, as noted on amenity list.

“Water” is always an issue on Hornby, as it is in many other areas. We harvest rain water and filter and store it in a large cistern. We have certified drinking water “on tap” which is sourced locally from an artesian well. We, Hornby residents, all appreciate the water conservation efforts of our visitors.

Sorry, we cannot accommodate pets. Smoking permitted only on your outside stone patio.

We, Ron and Karen, live in the adjoining house. You likely won’t see much of us but we will be happily available if needed in any way to make your stay more comfortable. Otherwise, your privacy will be respected.

We have one acre of land in a quiet neighbourhood. It is peaceful, with natural landscaping and tended garden areas.

$ 950.00 a week, plus taxes: 8% PST, 3% MRDT (local pillow tax)

$ 200.00 Security deposit (refunded within 3 days of ending your stay)

Bookings Sunday to Sunday , check in 4:00 pm, check out 11:00 am

Exception Sunday August 18, 2024 to leaving Friday, August 23, 2024, 5 nights $ 700

**Note: if you bring your own linens, towels, rate is $900.00 per week

$500.00 is required at time of booking.

In case of cancellation, every effort will be made to rebook. If not able to rebook deposit fee is nonrefundable.
