Hornby-style, custom-renovated barn crafted by a local wood working carpentry artist. This space is a working music production studio for the rest of the year.

The upstairs of the barn is a beautiful, open-concept accommodation featuring beautiful woodwork, a front south-facing deck, a mini dining area, a couch lounge space, an old upright piano for musicians to play, and a queen-sized bed overlooking a garden space and a beautiful woodland.

There is a separate, cute, rustic outdoor kitchen equipped with a two burner hotplate, BBQ, drinking water dispenser (self-fill when empty), sink with hot and cold water, and all the kitchen supplies you need to cook a hearty meal (there is no oven).

In the unfinished downstairs of the barn is an area to store your outdoor gear (coolers, beach gear, a kayak), a full-size but slightly smaller upright fridge and a rustic, charming bathroom with toilet, mirror, a cold water sink and warm water dispenser that can be refilled each day. The Barn Studio Suite space is best suited for a couple. There is a staircase to get up to the suite so it is not well-suited for anyone with mobility or agility issues. The landlords live on the property and a seasonal 6-foot privacy fence separates the two outdoor spaces.

In front of the Barn Studio, there is a smallish lawn area and garden space to enjoy sitting out. There is a path out to the road to access your one vehicle road parking space. You will be beside a family of four with active musicians so you will hear lots of live music and happy kid playing sounds from our side of the property.

There is a rustic on-demand propane hot water heater that fuels the outdoor kitchen sink and a rustic outdoor shower (fenced in by a wood slate fence and honeysuckle vines). Hornby experiences severe water shortages – all drinking water must be purchased (we will provide the first  5 gallons), we ask you to bring your own sheets, bathroom towels, beach towels and kitchen clothes and towels (we will provide pillows, pillow cases, duvet and duvet cover), take water conserving showers (lather up without the water running, then quickly rinse off), severely limit toilet flushes per day and be conscious of keeping dishwashing needs to a minimum. If water shortages become extreme, an addition 5 gallons of water may need to be purchased for dishwashing needs.

We will rent for a 3-week minimum stay. We require a 50% deposit and a $400 damage deposit that will be returned upon check out. Please leave the place in the condition you found it – or pay a $150 cleaning fee out of your down deposit. Please take recycling and garbage to the Free Store/Recycling Depot once per week and at the end of your stay.
