From her early leather work at her Atelier la Papillonne in Quebec City to her current ceramic art at Purple Feet Pottery Studio on Hornby Ekta has committed herself to three dimension art.
Along the way she studied Fine Arts at the University of Quebec and took pottery courses at Emily Carr, UBC and Langara College. She has also studied under the guidance of renowned figurative artist Philippe Faraut in Sarasota and Maestro Romano Ranieri in Deruta Italy. In 2014 she did a residency in Vallauris France. Her observation of the form and texture of Hornby Island’s nature, from birds to bark to beach rock, is translated into ceramic form, both functional and sculptural.
