Welcome to Sweet Hornby! We, Rudy and Jacqueline, are a recently retired couple. We packed up and moved all our worldly possessions to this property we completed the build of our dream home in October 2017. We built it with a living space on the ground level to ensure both living spaces could maximize on the stunning high bank ocean front view. We occupy the upper level with our own entrance. The 470 square foot living space below has a living room and a master bedroom with a queen bed. The bathroom has a shower, no tub. Between the living room and bedroom there is a little space with a big sink. There is a mini-fridge and french press coffee pot. Coffee is provided along with other treats. We can offer a continental breakfast as well. There is not a kitchen but a kettle, toaster and access to a propane barbecue on your private deck facing the beautiful ocean. You are located next to the covenanted Gary Oak Grove, the most northerly grove in North America and adjacent to the path to Helliwell Provincial Park which is a mere 5-minute walk from the suite. Each room has large windows with a view that can surprise you with eagles perched in Douglas fir trees twenty feet away. Below in the ocean Orcas have been sighted as well as humpback and grey whales. Oh, and we cannot forget our resident seals that frolic freely as well. Deers are not far off most of the time. It is truly a natural paradise. A 2-minute drive or a 15-minute walk will get you to Big Trib bay beach where it feels like the California of the north.
This is ideal for couples and is not suitable for young children as we are on high bank and there are no fences.
Rudy and I are home most of the time to answer any questions you may have. If we are not home we could very well be out fishing. We have a young white Labrador Retriever named Boomer. He is a very enthusiastic lovable lab who is in his own world separate from the suite.
Linens are provided but you must bring your own beach towels.
No smoking and no pets.
Hope to Sea you soon.
