Cottage on Tribune Bay

Waterfront. Artist built. Self-contained. Private entrance through large friendly sun room/breakfast room designed for island time.

Spacious cottage with authentic Hornby ambience in tranquil setting, and quiet neighbourhood, on Tribune Bay with fabulous north and south water views.

Go to sleep and wake up to the sounds of the sea.
One bedrooms with queen bed. One bedroom with double bed. One loft with double bed. Occupancy limited to 6.

Bright sunny L-shaped living and dining areas adjoin either side of a kitchen island with solid cedar counters that make for a sociable foodie’s command centre.
Private bathroom with new but traditional type ball and claw tub invites a contemplative soak with focus on an antique stained glass window.

Herb garden, large, sunny all day, grassy space, and picnic area on waterfront are separated from the rest of the waterfront area by a latticed privacy fence and shrubs to provide three secluded outdoor eating places for Summer guests.

Immediately above the water is a beach oriented, small look out patio that provides an idyllic quiet time “perch” for relaxing. Great for entertaining, tide monitoring, sundowners, bird watching, or generally enjoying the Summer scene.

The beach access that adjoins our one acre property leads straight down to fascinating rocks and pools and allows you to get from cottage to beach in less than a minute. Bring swimming shoes or old runners for swimming, kayaking, sun bathing etc. or for the short walk to sandy Little Tribune Beach, and the amazing Co-Op store. From there on it is another short walk to the long sandy beach known as Big Trib. And Sandpiper beach is about a ten minute walk away.

People who know and love Hornby Island respect that shortage of water is a major problem especially in the summer when it is very dry and at the same time the population increases greatly.

Bed linen is provided but NOT bath or beach towels.
Bring your own towels and take them home for laundering.
Please provide your own drinking and cooking water. The Co-Op can supply this.

Hornby Island’s famous Recycling Depot is open Thursdays to Sundays in the Summer, and their Free Store, a national treasure, is very worth a visit.

Please plan to take your empties, packaging, garbage, etc. to the Depot or to remove all that messy stuff off island when you leave.
We will meet you on arrival, give you the tour, and help you with any questions.
Sorry but we must request that there is no camping, no pets and no smoking.
