WELCOME TO CLIFF-TOP RETREAT

This singular, cozy dwelling is built on the island’s heights, overlooking sea, sky and mountains and backed by deep woods.

Our home has an arching sod roof, 14′ ceilings, high windows and a wrap-around deck.  Two intimate 20′ x 12” rooms, plus a 12′ x 10′ loft provide three sleeping/living spaces for up to six people. The main living space has a fully-equipped modern galley kitchen (caveat: a toaster-oven replaces a full oven), a dining area, a futon couch that converts easily into a queen-sized bed, and a full bathroom with a spacious tiled shower.

A stair-ladder leads to the sleeping loft above, with its double futon and spectacular view.

The second 20’ x 12’ room, with its separate outside entrance, provides a completely private sleeping/lounging/living space, with high, wide views of the forest and patio doors opening onto the deck.  It does not have its own bathroom.

Linens, blankets, pillows, and towels are provided and a washer/dryer is available.  We have wireless internet, cell phone coverage, a DVD player and VCR, along with an extensive collection of books, videos, CDs and games.  (No TV, however.)

On the deck are a barbecue, table, chairs and recliners, encouraging outdoor dining and relaxing – with soaring eagles at eye-level and deer browsing in the meadow below (though not on demand).  A mosaic table at the bottom of the property, overlooking the cliff, is ideal for morning coffee or before-dinner drinks, offering privacy, peacefulness and a magnificent view.

Note: Not recommended for small children because of the adjacent cliff.

Please: No cats, smoking, tents or campers. Well-behaved dogs are permitted – but not if they might chase deer.

Area Attractions

We are minutes away from three superb beaches, Helliwell Park, hiking and biking trails, tennis courts, markets and eateries, as well as community events: Farmer’s Market, performances, dances, jazz, art and craft shows and  recreational activities for children.
