Welcome to the Arbutus House
The Arbutus House is a comfortable, nicely furnished 3-bedroom home, wonderful for families or a group of friends. Nestled under a verdant canopy of Douglas fir, arbutus and alder, the house is just a 10-minute stroll to Sandpiper beach.

The house has a private feel. It is set back from the street, on a half-acre. Though the house is nicely shaded, bright mid-day sun graces our front deck and balcony.
We appreciate your participation in the stewardship of our beautiful island: practice water conservation, composting, and the Three R’s – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
In keeping with Hornby’s dedication to water conservation, we request that you bring your own bed linens and towels (sheets, pillow cases, bath towels, wash cloths & beach towels.) We provide pillows, duvets, lightweight blankets, and dish towels.
Due to dry drought conditions, we ask that you not smoke in the house or anywhere on the property.
We have stable Internet. Mobile phone signals are intermittent. This means texting is usually reliable, but phone reception sometimes is not. The house has a landline you can use to receive calls or make local calls.

Pricing
Pricing Summer 2024
July & August: $2,250 per week, plus 8% PST and 3% MRDT (“pillow tax”).
June & September: nightly rate $350 (with 3-night minimum); weekly rate $2,150 – plus 8% PST and 3% MRDT.
Reservation deposit: One-half of rental rate due at time of booking. Damage deposit: $250.
Balance of rental rate, plus damage deposit, due 6 weeks before arrival – by Interac E-Transfer to our email.
Check in is Saturday at 4pm, check out is the following Saturday at 10 am.
Well-behaved canines are allowed, by prior arrangement. $100 fee.
Cancellation policy: if you cancel, we will re-list your rental period; if we’re able to re-book, we will refund 90% of any payments made.
